Gaurav Verma
I am currently a junior at Purdue University, majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Economics.
I am passionate about creating innovative yet practical solutions that can create a positive impact on society. My journey into engineering began during middle school, where I worked with my father to construct unique birdhouses, dog houses, and wall art to raise funds for an orphanage in Zambia (pictured below). Over time, my projects evolved to encompass more sophisticated designs integrating lighting, motors, and basic circuitry. Through endeavors as such, I have cultivated a diverse skill set and developed a keen interest in technology, economics, and business management.
Beyond academics, I am an avid traveler, mountain biker, Rubik’s cube enthusiast, and dirt biking enthusiast. Recently, I embarked on a 12-day road trip from Zambia to Namibia, traversing the Namib Desert with friends. Such travel experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into different environments and cultures, enriching my understanding of the world around me.
